Wayne Petti, from Canadian folk-rock band Cuff The Duke, has been wearing glasses since he was 12 years old. Fittingly, the two people that inspired his eyewear choices were musicians: John Lennon and Buddy Holly. In fact, Wayne’s first pair were circular frames from the John Lennon collection (Interesting eyewear fact: Wayne’s grandfather was an optometrist so he had a box full of frames from the 1960s growing up).
Wayne has since gravitated toward more of a Buddy Holly/Elvis Costello look, which is where he drew inspiration for these Oliver Peoples “Ari” two-toned frames. The frames feature a bold and beveled cut, with pin-detailing on the temples, and are a stylish way to rock the popular two-toned trend.
Wayne will be performing in Niagara-on-the-Lake in a few weeks to raise funds for “Adrie’s House of Hope” – an orphanage in South Africa that’s home to 32 children who have been neglected, abandoned and/or left by their parents. The concert will be held at Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery on Sunday, May 19th at 1:30pm. Tickets are $30, and available at adrieshouseofhope.ca.
