Chip Kidd is a renowned art director, author, and illustrator, whose C.V. reads like a best-sellers table at Barnes & Noble: cover designs for David Sedaris, Augusten Burroughs and Haruki Murakami (among others), co-author and designer of “True Prep” (the sequel to the beloved “Official Preppy Handbook”) and an original graphic novel published by DC Comics. He’s also an award-winning photographer and a highly sought-after lecturer. Oh – and he loves glasses.
We were lucky enough to meet Chip at the recent Toronto Comic Arts Festival, where he was sporting a pair of smart and savvy Giorgio Armani glasses. Though they give off an “old school” vibe at first glance, the slim profile and detailing on the temples give these frames a sharp, modern twist. The egg-shaped rims frame Chip’s eyes perfectly and serve to compliment his whimsical outfit. The look is casual and confident with a dose of good, old-fashioned fun.
