Jon’s glasses are from Drift Eyewear – a Chicago-based company that manufactures eco-friendly frames from sustainable wood and hardware. This “Atticus” model is in a “Crystal Matte” colour-way, with a custom-made rivet hinge and walnut temples. Jon like that these glasses were unique, yet still complimented his everyday wardrobe. “When I wear light blues or red, the frame subtly picks up those colours,” he says.
Part of the company’s limited-edition “Delta Blues” collection, the frames are inspired by the classic P3 shape, and feature an M49 acetate from Italian company Mazzucchelli. This traditional cellulose acetate is known for its warm and silky characteristics, while also being strong enough to fit both prescription and sunglass lenses. The “Delta Blues” collection, meantime, pays homage to loggers of the past, whose work and music continue to leave a legacy today. The wood used in this collection is milled from a century-old sunken Cypress, exhumed in Louisiana. A portion of the proceeds from each frame goes to The Music Maker Relief Foundation.
