Welcome to TheSpectacled.com – a style blog with a focus on eyewear. We launched this site because we’d like to think that we see things a little differently, partially because of our experience behind the camera and mostly because we wear glasses.
This blog combines our love of fashion and our love of glasses. It will feature photos and interviews of people who have found a way to incorporate eyewear into their personal style. We also want this site to serve as a database of sorts. We’ve indexed all the designers whose frames have been spotted on our subjects, so you can easily explore the brands and styles that speak to you most.
At the end of the day, everybody wants to be seen – this site represents how we see things…through our (four) eyes and a camera lens.
Phil is a photographer whose photos have appeared in NYTimes.com/Style, Fashion Magazine, Flare Magazine and The Kit. He started wearing glasses when he was six, maybe seven. They were huge and unfortunate. He currently alternates between a pair of matte storm Oliver Peoples NDGs and tortoiseshell Daddy Bs. Phil currently lives in Toronto.
Tim is a writer who contributes to everything from Nylon to Corduroy. He’s worn glasses ever since the fifth grade. His first pair was clear and plastic and from an Asian discount optical shop. His current staple is a pair of flat-top, tortoiseshell Alain Mikli AL0756s. Tim currently lives in Los Angeles.
