“Black Thought” from The Roots Launches Limited-Edition Frame with MOSCOT

Here’s a new collaboration that’s music to our… well, eyes! The Roots’ vocalist and co-founder Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter is teaming up with MOSCOT on a limited-edition sunglass collaboration for charity.

Trotter, who famously rocks sunglasses every night on NBC’s Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, is partnering with MOSCOT on a “Black Tortoise” version of the New York brand’s iconic “GRUNYA” frame. The frame features double laminate combination Black Tortoise acetate, with brown glass gradient lenses. The retro-inspired look is completed with a key hole bridge, three dot rivets on the front and temples, and a seven barrel hinge. It’s a slightly chunkier, and more luxurious take on the original “GRUNYA” silhouette. Limited to only 300 pairs, each is numbered, and features Trotter’s gold stamped signature.

100% of the proceeds from sales will be donated to Trotter’s GrassROOTS Community Foundation, and The MOSCOT Mobileyes Foundation. The Limited Edition GRUNYA for Tariq Trotter retails for $325 USD and launches with a concert and party at the MOSCOT store in New York. Fans can also pre-order the frames online at MOSCOT.com.
