Ariella Gogol

These oversized Celine sunglasses were the perfect summer purchase for New York-based creative director Ariella Gogol, who liked them because they “provide great coverage” during the sunny summer months. The tortoise frames carry all the hallmarks of a great pair of Celine glasses, with bold styling, thick acetate and minimal adornments. Edges are curved and refined, while everything is handmade and hand-polished for a subtle sheen. We spotted Ariella during a casual day at the park, but these glasses work equally as well for work or a night out for one last summer hurrah!

Annabel Rosendahl

What can we say about Annabel’s amazing Celine sunglasses? These flat-top shades apply Celine’s signature minimalism to eyewear, creating a stark and modern look that’s as bold as it is trendy. Made from Italian acetate, the hand-crafted frames are dubbed the “ZZ Top,” thanks to its chunky styling and straight browline. The rectangular shape has an architectural quality to it, while playing off an oversized silhouette. The extra-thick temples are accented by Celine’s triple hinge pins.

We love this look because it gives off a vibe of mystery and nonchalance. Paired with Annabel’s sneakers and bright orange bag, the glasses demonstrate perfectly how the right accessories can often make an entire outfit.

Annick Verfaellie

Annick’s blush pink Celine sunglasses are at once sophisticated and charming, and call to mind first days of spring, and summers in the park. The acetate frames feature oversized gradient lenses, metallic detailing on the temples, and a slight butterfly shape along the brow line. The thicker bridge adds a touch of whimsy to the otherwise elegant and feminine look.

Lauren Michaels

We spotted Lauren on her way home from a picnic in the park in these “blond tortoise” Celine sunglasses. Lauren loved the exaggerated teacup-shaped frame, which adds extra glamour to these celeb-worthy shades. Made from acetate, the frames feature a classic keyhole bridge and silver, pin-dot detailing on the sides. The Céline logo is printed on the temple. The glasses are fun yet luxurious, versatile enough for a casual day at the park like Lauren, or for a big night out on the town.

Briar Rowe

Briar fell in love with these Celine frames after seeing them on a number of her favourite style blogs. She proceeded to hunt them down for six months, before she finally found them online – and she’s been wearing them almost daily ever since!

You can’t go wrong with sunglasses from Celine. Whether they’re light and romantic, or bold and oversized like this pair, Celine frames are the sexy and sophisticated older cousin to Ray-Ban Wayfarers. The sleek curves and temple detailing make these shades unmistakably feminine, while the dark tint and thick, black arms give off a mysterious allure. Paired with Briar’s outfit, they’re equally perfect for daytime errands as they are for a night out on the town.

We stumbled across Betsy and her friend Joaquim having a conversation about eyewear and knew we had to interrupt to take a photo (sorry!). Though she was carrying around a few pairs of glasses in her purse, these jet-black Celine frames are her current go-to – and it’s easy to see why. Slightly boxy, but still sleek and feminine, it’s easy to picture these frames dressed up or dressed down, serving as a great anchor piece for any outfit.

Betsy finds eyewear important as she works with a publisher and needs a pair of comfortable, functional frames for daily use. But as she told us, it’s more than just fashion and function; “With eyewear,” she mused, “you see the world and the world sees you.”

Gracie Carroll

For those of you thinking about trying the print on print trend, look to blogger Gracie Carroll’s Celine frames for inspiration. We spotted Gracie in Toronto’s Distillery District wearing these tortoiseshell Celine sunglasses with a floral print top and polka dot shorts. The mixing of prints works here, as each one is of a different colour and proportion. Sticking to basic colors like blue and brown also help to keep the trend in check.

These frames were a gift from Gracie’s brother and we love the bold print, thick arms and unique pin detailing on the temples. Oversized without being obnoxious, they’re the definition of “statement sunnies.”
