Menswear designers Rochambeau launched their fall/winter 2013 collection with a presentation at Milk Studios, featuring Illesteva sunglasses. The dark and moody collection was inspired by the Chauvet drawings — cave paintings that date back 40,000 years — and the vibe reflected that, with eerie lighting and pulsating beats filling the space alongside the models (many of whom were dancing along with the soundtrack).
The clothing ran the gamut from androgynous drop-crotch trousers and shearling capes, to printed leggings and hooded parkas, all in rich, burnt colors and deep military tones. Eyewear played a prominent role in the styling of the presentation, with designers Joshua Copper and Laurence Chandler accessorizing each look with Illesteva sunglasses. The rounded, sci-fi inspired frames were bold and tough, adding a futuristic element to the collection. They also served to punctuate the overall look, which was one of beautiful contrasts – at once mysterious and elegant, strong yet delicate, and something 40,000 years in the making and yet so undeniably 2013.
